The President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Mr. Stevo Pendarovski, meets the Heads and representatives of the religious communities listed in the Constitution of the Republic of North Macedonia.

The meeting was attended by the Head of the Macedonian Orthodox Church – Ohrid Archbishopric  , His Beatitude Stefan, Archbishop of Ohrid and Macedonia and of Justinian I, Head of the Islamic Religious Community, Reis Ul Ulema Hadji Suleiman Efendi Rexhepi, Head of the Catholic Church, Bishop and Strumica-Skopje Eparchy, Kiro Stojanov, President of the Evangelical Methodist Church, Mr. Emil Zaev, President of the Jewish community , Ms.  Berta Romano Nikolic, as well as Mr. Darijan Sotirovski, Director of the Commission for Relations with Religious Communities and Groups.

At the meeting, President Pendarovski referred to coexistence and respect for diversity as one of the fundamental values ​​of the Republic of Northern Macedonia.

Addressing the heads and representatives of the religious communities, the President emphasized his commitment to cooperate with all religious communities in North Macedonia, in the interest of mutual understanding and tolerance.

President Pendarovski pointed to the importance of the role of the heads of religious communities in fostering coexistence as an important precondition for the prosperity and progress of the state.

Heads and representatives of religious communities welcomed the initiative to hold today's meeting and said that despite religious differences, the common goal of all is to build peace and respect.
